The industry has been very fortunate to have dedicated volunteer staff at the University of Wisconsin for >60 years. It is prudent and necessary at this time to secure our “candy school” future with paid UW staff; we are at risk of losing our beloved ‘Candy School’ and its legacy of educating our industry. The Confectionery Education endowment fund at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be utilized to support confection centered teaching, research, and outreach by a faculty member within the Food Science department.
