Pat Hurley

(PMCA — March 24, 2026) — Dedicated PMCA volunteer Pat Hurley, retired, Spangler Candy Company, was named the fifth recipient of the PMCA Distinguished Service Award for longtime, outstanding service to PMCA. He served on the PMCA Board of Directors, was a student mentor, chaired the Membership & Marketing Committee, served on the Production Conference Program Committee and attended the annual production conference for several decades.

In addition, Pat has served multiple terms as National Secretary of the American Association of Candy Technologists and has held leadership positions with the USA Confectionery Pavilion at ISM, the NCA Technical Committee, the American Society of Quality Control and the Institute of Food Technologists.

The award will be presented the evening of Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the 79th Annual Production Conference in Lancaster, PA. Lynn Wieland, Spangler Candy Company will accept the award on Pat’s behalf.

The PMCA Distinguished Service Award was implemented in 2020 to recognize individuals who have contributed outstanding service to the association. Service roles may include but are not limited to: officer, board member, committee/sub-committee chair and/or committee/sub-committee member. The recipient may have demonstrated active participation in a major PMCA event or activity such as: production conference, education course, symposium or webinar. Learn more about the award here.
